It is the shimmer of the sun rising across the horizon in a place you have never visited before. The feeling you get that tickles your soul when you kiss someone important for the first time. How you almost tear up when you see the skyline of your favorite city upon returning from a time away. Magic is all around us, in everything we do. It takes very little to turn around and see what others so often miss and realize just how lucky we are to be alive and living in such a spectacular environment.
“I do believe in an everyday sort of magic — the inexplicable connectedness we sometimes experience with places, people, works of art and the like; the eerie appropriateness of moments of synchronicity; the whispered voice, the hidden presence, when we think we’re alone.”
― Charles de Lint
This week take a day to add some time between tasks and look around. What will you take in for the first time or the first time in a long time that makes you realize how lucky you are to be alive?
As a busy college student, I have decided to start maintaining my blog primarily through posts that are prewritten and heavily edited. As a result, I have begun to miss the quick writing I use to do on a daily basis when I had the time for daily posts. To combat this I am challenging myself to fill as much of my “unscheduled” days with daily prompts written in 5 minutes or less.
